We are country raised, identical twins and we were fortunate to have Margaret River as our ripe neighbour growing up.
Discovering how similar the Margaret River soil and climate is to the Bordeaux region in France our wines seem to be favoured. The climate of Margaret River is more strongly maritime-influenced than any other major Australian region. It has the lowest mean annual temperature range, of only 7.6 °C, and has the most marked Mediterranean climate in terms of rainfall. The low diurnal and seasonal temperature range means an unusually even accumulation of warmth. All remarkable ingredients in creating a wine your pallet will lust for.
We have both always shared a love for wine and everything it embodies. Bringing people together, sharing stories, laughter and love. And it is our pleasure to share this with you through Twiins wine.
Sharon has spent most of her business life in the Pilbara region of Western Australia where temperatures would hover around 30 degrees and it wasn’t uncommon for it to reach a scorching 50 degrees. Sharon would look forward to jumping in the pool at the end of the day with crisp Semillon Sauvignon Blanc in hand with an ice cube or two. We feel our white wine is a perfect blend being 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillion which reflects the growing popularity of Sauvignon Blanc as the dominant variety.
Mish lived in London for 5 years managing pubs and restaurants and in charge of liquor buying. Here she discovered how Margaret River wine was well known and highly sought after on an international level. The icy cold London weather found Mish to regularly enjoy a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc with her meals. From that point the hunt was on for the perfect red grape!
